We were privileged to have been invited along to the What’s On 4 Juniors Awards Ceremony at Drayton Manor, being just one of two organisations from the North East to have reached the finals.
The Awards were to celebrate the elite service providers to families around the UK as chosen by the parents. Nominations were put forward by parents, but in order to reach the second stage of voting, each provider needed to receive at least 4 nominations in a particular category.
Raindrops to Rainbows was nominated for Most Outstanding Special Educational Activity Provider or Support Group, whilst founder, Stephanie Addison, was nominated for Most Outstanding Community Group Volunteer for Children, Babies or Families, meaning they each received a minimum of 4 nominations in each of the categories. Once voting opened, it was down to the public to vote for their favourites. Finalists were then invited down to the Awards Ceremony at Drayton Manor, which took place on Friday 20th June where winners were announced on the day.
We are very pleased to announce that Raindrops to Rainbows received a ‘Highly Commended’ Award in the category of Most Outstanding Special Educational Activity Provider or Support Group, meaning we came second, beating off competition from all over the UK. Stephanie was presented the award by 2012 Paralympics Silver Medallist, Rik Waddon. Stephanie came third in her category, receiving a finalist certificate.
Stephanie was thrilled to have been invited along to the Awards Ceremony “To have been nominated in not one but two categories was an amazing achievement for us. To then be announced as Runner Up and Finalist was an absolute honour. We had such tough competition in both categories, so to be named in the top 3 throughout the UK was astonishing. I am feeling very proud of what we have achieved as an Organisation in such a short time.”
Raindrops to Rainbows stemmed from an idea just 14 months ago and has gone from strength to strength, raising more awareness for Postnatal Depression across the Teesside and Co. Durham areas.
